It saddens us how many people don't understand the difference between the maximum block size, and the actual block size. We dive into this and try not to get TOO excited about Litecoin. But it is hard not too. No guests this week, just a short fireside chat, PABs!

Reem El Seed is a self-starter driven by the pursuit of knowledge and a desire to shape solutions for a better tomorrow. Her explorative nature propels her to push the boundaries of discovery and uncover organic solutions to human-computer interactions. It was only natural this lead to her curiosity of cryptocurrency. On this episode of BlockChannel, McKie, Dee and Dr. Petty put on their hella skeptical caps, and sit down with Galen and Curtis from the Urbit project. Urbit claims/seeks to be a “virtual land in the clouds” that will enable siloed, encapsulated computing environments for users. They believe in a new type of digital freedom; and even the mere mention of freedom gets out American blood boiling with excitement 🇺🇸, so of course had to chat and get an in-depth breakdown into crazy new adventure they’re embarking on. Confused? We we’re, but we’re onboard now. Hopefully you will be too.

On this episode of BlockChannel, McKie, Dee and Dr. Petty finally get a chance to have a chat with Jarrad Hope and Carl Bennetts of Status. After many reschedules due to their non-stop hustling the past few months since the announcement of their project — we got the scoop. We get an inside look into how Jarrad and Carl met, insights on the projects, and their vision for the platform in the future. Messaging applications are all the rage lately, and by embedding decentralization applications (DApps) into the heart of the experience, you get whole new type of platform — and we think that’s going to game changing for Ethereum.

On this episode of BlockChannel, McKie, Dee and Dr. Petty sit down with Shawn Wilkinson of Storj. Storj is a decentralized cloud storage provider that was created back in 2014. Since its inception, Storj has been hard at work on creating “cloud farms” of user submitted disk storage, where individuals who “rent’ out their additional disk space can receive monetary incentives for supporting the network. Originally built on XCP (Counterparty), Storj now plans to make a migration away from the now abandoned project (XCP is platform created originally on the bitcoin blockchain), and move their token and service over to Ethereum, to leverage its smart contracting capabilities, and reduced fees.

This week we sit down with former Wall St. trader and now Bitcoin expert, Tone Vays. We talk about his stance on drugs, Roger Ver debates, and of course, the technical aspects on what makes crypto tick nowadays. Let’s move this discussion beyond Roger Ver’s complaints of not being able to make micro transactions On-Chain and move straight to the Chinese Miners and more specifically Bitmain. They not only manage the biggest mining pool in the space, they are also the predominant chip maker that most of the world uses to then compete with them for global hash rate. They have already demonstrated that they don’t care about clearing transaction by not mining full blocks, so what can be their motivation for wanting Bigger Blocks? Press play to get the low-down.

Nate Dogg said it best: 'Smoke weed everyday'. Well, at least the legal kind, right? Well this episode, it's blockchain meets cannabis as The TOKES Platform provides a digital currency solution dedicated to the Cannabis Industry via a token called, you guessed it, “TOKES.” With this episode, we invite Michael Wagner on to facilitate the necessary education and training to secure and protect digital assets. Also, our faith in bitcoin is kind of in limbo. UH OH!

Mar 21, 2017

On this episode of BlockChannel, McKie, Dee and Dr. Petty are joined by Richard Craib. Richard is the mind behind “Numerai”; an AI-based hedge fund that feeds off of data science and machine-learning modeling. Models that are used on Numerai for algorithmic trading are submitted by users (Data Scientists) on the platform, where they are rewarded “Numeraire” tokens for successful modeling. Numeraire is not a currency in itself; the tokens are used for Data Scientists to essentially “bet” on their own machine learning models and how well they’d actually perform on a live market with real money. This form of “staking” allows the scientist to essentially receive a dividend of sorts for their successful modeling. As the success of Numerai grows, so will the overall proportion of funds being paid off to data scientists.

This project is made possible my utilizing the Ethereum public chain; we believe it’s a ground-breaking concept, one that hopefully is replicated across other hard sciences. Dive in and keep an open-mind!

According to the Land Title Association, 30% of of all title searches are found to have errors of some type. By ‘securing’ the information onto the Blockchain, it becomes a permanent public record, immutable and independent of any one company’s database.  This kind of clarity, efficiency and immutability of ownership records has ubiquitous benefits. Old buddies of the show Nathan Wosnack and Marina Reznik come on yet again to give us an update on!

Given the current focus on blockchain development, it makes sense to support the development of decentralized applications. Wefunder’s BitPay integration allows ANYONE from cryptocurrency enthusiasts to mainstream investors to support companies using bitcoin, in full SEC compliance supported by Title III of the JOBS Act. The JOBS Act, passed earlier this year, has updated national securities laws to recognize modern modes of online capital raising and Airbitz is the first blockchain-focused company to take advantage of this. Airbitz, Bitcoin wallet provider and creator of the Edge Security SDK for decentralized apps, is announcing the launch of its equity crowdfunding campaign and CEO Paul Puey comes back to the show (for the first time in 90 episodes, mind you) to talk shop.

Nearing the ripe age of 50, Gavin Andresen graces us with an appearance as an expert on Bitcoin. He has worked on the project in some way or other since 2010 and is still one of its best-known figures. So we are in good company. One of his first public podcast chats since publicly backing Craig Wright (we don't need to get into that, do we?), we ask him the hard hitting questions and get some answers!

Ever since OpenBazaar was released, content creators immediately took a liking to this decentralized marketplace approach. For smaller artists and creators, monetization has always been a struggle. This is particularly true in the music industry, where competition is relentless and far too many middlemen want their cut. Myco, a group that can also be found on Bandcamp, has posted their new EP, Vinyl, and CD up for sale on OpenBazaar. They join us this week to talk all about it!

Earlier this year we shed some light on a brand new program. Exosphere Academy added a stream devoted to Ethereum and blockchain technology for the first time. Moritz Bierling was responsible putting the course together and helping participants navigate this exciting new arena. Now, ready to open up the program to a new class starting in early 2017, we welcome Moritz back and new instruct Schlomi to shed light on what to expect, the changes between the last class and this new one, and most importantly, what cool projects came to light from the last class.

Curious what it is like inside a seed-stage accelerator focused on Future Technology? This week, we invite Scott Robinson into the studio, who is the founder partner and director of Plug and Play FinTech, the financial and security focused startup accelerator in partnership with Citi, USAA, Capital One, Intuit, and other corporations. Since the launch of the program in February 2015, Scott and his team have accelerated over 72 FinTech startups and has led numerous investments into the domain. So, the key criteria for potential startups is that they can stand the test of time and build upon the intriguing peer-to-peer network philosophy behind bitcoin’s distributed system.

One of the biggest challenges if we want to secure the Internet of Things centers on identity. Specifically: how will we go about getting billions or hundreds of billions of intelligent devices to connect and communicate with each other securely? It’s not just about Tesla knowing that the device on the other end of a firmware update is a Model S versus a Model X. It’s about the thousands of sensors within that Tesla communicating with the road and other infrastructure, or knowing that a command to brake or swerve is a legitimate command that comes from the driver or another trusted subsystem. This week we invite Blockchain specialist and steategy analyst from Chain of Things, Mr. Conor Colwell, to the show to discuss cryptography, security and IoT industries globally. Chain of Things is set up to explore all security applications within blockchain IoT and look at the development of open-standards for the industry to use. So sit back, press play, and dive in.

BCoin is a bitcoin client which implements BIP-37. It can track transactions, public keys, and public key hashes (bitcoin addresses) without saving the entire blockchain to disk. This means you can have a wallet with a synchronized balance and send and receive payments without keeping track of a 20GB database. BCoin is implemented in pure javascript, and is browserify-able (this means compiling a binding to an ECDSA library is not even required for node.js). For us, the fact that peer to peer communication is not encrypted on the Bitcoin network seems like more of an oversight to me than anything else. They now have begun integrating the Lightning Network. It's called "blight". takes over this episode as both Christopher Jeffrey (JJ) who is the CTO & Engineer at Purse and podcast regular Steven McKie join us in the studio. We continue to give you that mid-week goodness.

Sep 18, 2016

It is hard to think it's been eight months since Ryan X Charles came onto our show, as we are in dire need of an update on what he was been working on. There are a lot of great content creators on the internet, but most of them aren’t earning any money. Yours is a way to solve this problem. By thoughtfully incentivizing payments to creators, they give people a reason to pay for content on the internet. Their app depends on an integrated bitcoin wallet, and this week they have made important progress enabling small payments with low fees: they have broadcast our first micropayment on bitcoin testnet. Well hot damn. Let's get to it!

It’s no secret that tech has a diversity problem. Women are largely underrepresented, and Blacks and Latinos are almost invisible. While microeconomics assumes national income and aggregate price as given, and explains the determination of relative productions and prices of various goods and services, quite the opposite is true for macroeconomics. It is assumed that the value of bitcoin is directly dependent on its use for transactions. Enter, Collin Thompson, who is a blockchain technology and IoT entrepreneur, and venture capital investor out of Hong Kong.

Sep 11, 2016

The number-one corporate objective, when crossing the chasm, is to secure a distribution channel into the mainstream market, one with which the pragmatist customer will be comfortable. Enter DECENT, which provides open-source software that enables users to share unlimited virtual content; the company’s main goal is to give a chance to individuals whose voice is normally controlled. What better person to explain all of this to us than one of the company’s co-founders and CEO? Matej Michalko joins us in the studio this week.

When a ballot proposal that would have replaced the city ordinance failed, Uber and Lyft left Austin, TX as promised. Since May 9, there have been no ride-sharing services available in this city of almost a million people. So it’s no surprise that tech-savvy Austinites, like this episodes special guest, Christopher David, who have taken matters into their own hands without the concern about red tape or corporate bullshit. Arcade City is a rideshare startup designed to be integrated into the Ethereum blockchain. Now, we keep it 100 here at The Bitcoin Podcast and I won't pretend there isn't any skepticism. The thing that worries me about this is that the guy was called out recently for being a bit of a scam artist. Turns out, he has straight forward answers to all our questions. And yes, we do have trust in him and Arcade City.

Sep 1, 2016

We (up 'til now) haven't talked to much about the Lightning Network. The Lightning Network is a network of payment channels. When Alice wants to pay Carol, or Dave, or Susan, she finds the shortest route and makes a payment through the route using smart contracts. If Alice cannot find any route to pay Dave, Alice opens up a channel directly to Dave. Makes sense? No? Well...for starters our guest is Olaoluwa Osuntokun who might know a thing or two about it. In addition, Steven Mckie (Yours) and Valerian Bennett (PopChest) join us as the Bitcoin Justice League assembles to talk how this network affects their own creations.

Aug 28, 2016

The "vibe" around Bitcoin has been neutral to negative for two years now and plenty of bitcoiners are tiring of the politics around the block size limit. Ethereum is young and exciting but not like anything else in the crypto space. A recurring theme at the Satoshi Roundtable is that Bitcoin problems are leading to rise in Ethereum interest. Enter our guest this week, Anthony Di Iorio, CEO and founder of Jaxx and Decentral, who co-founded Ethereum in 2013. Jaxx and ShapeShift together will, without doubt, be the easiest solution for buying ether with bitcoin (and vice versa) ‒ and it’s done right in your Jaxx wallet.

Aug 21, 2016

Our guest today is Mariana Dahan is the Senior Operations Officer in the Office of the World Bank catalyzing progress towards identification systems using 21st century technology solutions. With Google Trends data showing that searches for the word “blockchain” have exponentially increased, we may be entering the peak of the hype cycle for blockchain and distributed ledger technology. That’s because its decentralized approach to verifying changes in important information addresses the centuries-old problem of trust, a social resource that is all too often in short supply, especially amid the current era’s rampant concerns over the security of valuable data.

Aug 18, 2016

Part 2 of the Steven McKie character piece is concluded. In addition, this episode we are talking with Max Kordek, the founder of a new decentralized platform called Lisk. Since the launch of Lisk there was a lot of confusion about what it really is, and what it enables people to do in the future. Max gladly came on our show to clean up some misunderstandings, and explain briefly what Lisk is and what it isn’t. LISK will go to the moonnn; only need patience! Oh, and part 2 of our character piece of Steven McKie! We bring the goods!

Aug 14, 2016

Vinay Gupta is a technologist, inventor, futurist, systems theorist, and global resilience guru whose life’s work focuses on how to ensure the long-term survival and flourishing of the human race. It was stimulating conversation about a wide variety of topics. In addition, we run a character piece of Steven McKie, a brilliant mind working at and Yours. Part 1 of 2 included in this episode depicts us trying to connect the dots between childhood struggles and future success.

Aug 7, 2016

With the economy still far from recovered, it seems like a less-than-ideal time to start a new business. Yet right now is actually the perfect opportunity to dream big, follow your passion and create your own path to success. Take Arthur Falls for example, who whilst unemployed learned about crypto and now has one of the leading podcasts surrounding ethereum. Arthur’s itinerant employment history in the New Zealand orchard industry and Maine lobster fishery, sparked his interest in economics and international finance. Funny how like works, yes? Now, he leads ConsenSys Media, a decentralized organization with personnel spanning four continents!

Aug 3, 2016

Our guest today is Greg Slepak, Software developer of Espionage 3 & founder of the okTurtles Foundation, who talked about the bitcoin block size debate as surfacing "politics" in the bitcoin ecosystem.  The politics are intense, there are ways that bitcoin governance is like government, and proposals to fork the software are kind of like constitutional amendments. After Greg talked to us, I'm increasingly comfortable thinking of bitcoin governance as a market phenomenon.

Matt Liston of the Gnosis prediction market platform discusses the upcoming crowdsale and the structure of the DAO which will manage it’s development. When not DAO-whispering he composes algorithmic music and dreams of a future Skynet-on-a-blockchain. Ethereum is part of a movement in tech to create a decentralized infrastructure that will rely on an uncontrolled network of computers to be the arbiter between them, rather than a central service or agency. Its called a trustless system. We prefer...Skynet. Welcome to an oasis of futures – a safe place for extreme ideas.

Jul 24, 2016

Another double header episode! Up first, Don Konforty, who is an expert on collaboration via the net, and the wisdom of crowds. We also have Greg Meredith, who has been working in the blockchain space, helping Ethereum with formal verification of their proof-of-stake protocol, Synereo’s formally-verified smart contracting language would have prevented the attack on The DAO. They come on the show to discuss all these developments and more.

Jul 21, 2016

The Thiel Foundation has announced its 2016 Fellows with a new class of 29 people focusing on technology and software development. Thiel Fellows receive $100,000 to work on new projects that advance technology. Augur will be one of the first cryptocurrency-related projects joining the Thiel Fellows program. Joey Krug is currently making Augur’s consensus implementation faster and more accurate. That's not all! Listen now and you get Tony Swish, podcast regular, and Augur's Director of Marketing for free! Boom! Stacked episode playas!

Jul 18, 2016

Andrew Lee, co-founder of Purse, had a common frustration that Bitcoin didn’t offer any incentive for normal people to use it, and had a hunch that he could use blockchain escrows to liquidate Amazon gift cards and deliver great deals. That hunch proved to be correct - and transacted over $4.5M and saved users almost a million dollars. But we don't just talk about it -- we be about it, by....talking about it...with HIM! In addition, PopChest announced they are shutting down. Is this the end of bitcoin + microtransactions? We offer up our thoughts, ideas, and criticisms because we want and need PopChest to get better to serve the community to the best of their ability.

Jul 13, 2016

Things aren't looking good. Currencies everywhere are in dire restraints. The credit agency Fitch sees potential catastrophe for the EU if the Italian banking system fails. China is crash landing their economy. Right now the argument that bitcoin will die is very difficult to make based on past experiences. We tackle how bitcoin navigated in a world where massive currency crises are the norm. Who better to join us, right as the halvening hits, than Andreas M. Antonopoulos, who is a technologist and serial entrepreneur who has become one of the most well-known and well-respected figures in bitcoin. The next halvening is on July, 2020. See you there!

Jul 10, 2016

We've heard it all before, get rich quick; I'm successful, YOU can be successful too! Chris Dunn is a bit different though. He is solely on a journey to discover ways to create income, build wealth, and have complete freedom and autonomy in his life. He is just seeking out people to tell about bitcoin, laying down the risks, benefits and possibilities encountered in trading. Chris has deep experience in bitcoin trading and he has been successful for many years. This week, we share with you HIS bitcoin journey and we learn a thing or two! With the recent halvening, he'll show you what’s working now and what pitfalls to avoid.

Jul 4, 2016

OK, we've talked about the crazy DAO project, but what about solutions? Technically, it's not illegal. The 'hacker' played fair and square by rules that were entirely legit albeit obscure and somewhat hidden in the code. Well, Peter Vessenes thinks the best one for TheDAO token holders is a straight up refund. There are lots of possibilities forward. A surprising number of people have contacted us about a whitehat attack on TheDAO. If whitehats do go ahead and attack TheDAO with the goal of saving at least 70% of the funds, avoid lawsuits and lengthy bankruptcy proceedings, again, Refund Wallet. We discuss ALL this and more.

Jun 30, 2016

Ubitquity LLC, a leading Blockchain developer for advanced applications in real estate has successfully completed the development of its platform prototype that is set to revolutionize the real estate industry. Once again they come onto the show to inform us how Ubitquity will increase speed and accuracy of title search, along with helping to prevent fraudulent conveyance of property by adding overall transparency. McKIBBIN AND SAUCIER (minus Saucier) are now joined by Nathan Wosnack, co-founder and CEO, and Marina Reznik! Full house baby!

Jun 27, 2016

Emin Gün Sirer is a great mind and future thinker for CryptoCurrency, smart contracts and DAOs. I'm also supporting his stance to start working on DAO 2.0 in an organized manner. The statements from the Cornell computer scientist on this episode come amid broad concern over developments at The DAO. In the interest of helping us all to arrive at a considered consensus, Valerian Bennett, creator of Popchest and pioneer of microtransactions, join us on the roundtable. This is it folks, we put the final nail in the coffin on the Dao talk. It's a good one!

Jun 22, 2016

If you frequent Twitter and are into crypto currency, odds are you know todays guest. Tuur Demeester is an independent investor and commentator. He has a background in Austrian economics, the school that specializes in the study of boom-and-bust cycles in the economy. We talk more about The DAO, and his coverage of ethereum is second to none. Whether the DAO attacker is letter writer is not material—anyone can now assimilate proposed strategy of legal high ground + bribing miners.

Jun 20, 2016

Crazy week for crypto! This week we have an analysis of the DAO exploit. We also bring in Anne Connelly, who is the first millennial in Notable history to be nominated for Bitcoin-related accomplishments. She currently serves as the Head of Marketing for Ledger Labs, a Toronto-based consulting and development firm that applies decentralized systems and principles to the fields of security, finance, and governance. Oh boy, this proposed soft fork is a can of worms. Rock and a hard place. No good options. Yikes.

Jun 12, 2016

WTF is up with Bitcoin's price?! TO THE MOON! Cello admits Bloodsport is better than Time Cop. BARELY! In addition, Moritz is Exosphere's Ethereum Curator which he is building an 8-week Ethereum development course at the residential program Exosphere Academy in Chile, supported by ConsenSys and Ethereum Labs. Philip Saunders, the instructor, is a voracious reader and enthusiastic amateur debater. These guys enjoy hands on, gloves off exchange of controversial ideas, and are now focusing their efforts on creating and nurturing new learning institutions that marry deep reflection with real world experience.

Jun 9, 2016

This episode is all about Bitcoin trading, market analysis and charting. Our guest this week is vital to this theme and we have a friend of the podcast (Marc) filling in for Marcello. I think sharing this has value to the bitcoinmarkets community because some of these experiences are hard to come by: Our guest was there when OKcoin margin called literally every short up to 350 during a DDOS causing him to lose 8% of his coins from hedging, not even trading. Amateur traders like his old self don't survive long enough to tell stories later. Well, later is here. And stories we shall tell.

Let’s face it: embracing change is no fun. Everyone likes staying in his or her comfort zone. After all, they call it a “comfort” zone for a reason—even the term itself stirs up deep feelings of calm, relaxation and security. But eventually, something comes along to shake us out of it. We welcome the team back onto the show for a third time as they revealing their latest update & expansion plans.

May 30, 2016

Coming back to the show a full calendar year later (he was our very first guest!), is Tawanda Kembo, who, having been working in IT for 13 years, has been a leading Bitcoin Evangelist in Africa. With everything going on around Nigeria’s economy, the rise in inflation rate is now about 13.7% compared to about 8% which was the inflation rate about this time last year. As Nigeria (Africa's biggest market) heads toward recession, bitcoin could offer recession proof savings. We talk all about this and more.

May 27, 2016

Is GDAX just a marketing scheme? That is the focus this week and as CEO & Co-founder of Safello, Frank Schuil is heading the efforts to revolutionize the financial markets by building a crypto currency bank. We stops in to chat a bit. Safello is supporting 32 countries and thousands of customers and is also the first crypto currency company to be accepted to the Barclays Accelerator program in London. AND he looks like Blake Shelton. This guy can't lose. Frank is a frequent speaker at events such as TEDx, Money2020, Coinsummit, and the Digital Currency Summit. This guy does WORK!

May 23, 2016

If you've known about The DAO for a few months and you still don't "get it", then we pity you. Steven Mckie, from Yours, joins the roundtable to break it down for you. TLI5 style. In addition, we invite Jesse Powell the Co-founder of, which is a digital asset exchange with support for Bitcoin, Ethereum (ether), Litecoin, and etc. We chat about being selected to aid MtGox liquidation and accepting MtGox bankruptcy claims. We also get an update on possible acquisitions. Because being the world's largest bitcoin exchange in euro volume and liquidity isn't enough!

May 16, 2016

This week we bring up 90s cartoon “Bobby's World” and discuss the 10 quotes that defined Consensus 2016. Also, swinging by our studio is Abi Aryan, who continually works to educate and enable individuals and businesses to leverage Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. How exactly can Bitcoin prevent fraud from Hawala, which is an ancient system of money transfer which originated in South Asia and is now being used across the globe?! Topics like this and more!

May 9, 2016

Bitcoin is a major technological advancement by being able to perform distributed consensus and programmable trust. This implementation, the first practical one, of triple-entry bookkeeping will lead to all types of advancements in the generation ahead and improved administration of capital. Enter, Trace Mayer, who was among the first popular bloggers to publicly recommend blockchain technology, Bitcoin, in its infancy when it was only a quarter! Oh, and he hosts the extremely popular Bitcoin Knowledge podcast. He has a voice that could make a wolverine purr, and suits so fine they make Sinatra look like a hobo.

May 3, 2016

Today we interview the CCO and co-founder of, StephanTual. He stops by to help clear up the confusion around thingsrelated to and the first ever decentralized autonomousorganization (DAO). Not only is he a smooth talkin' maama-jaama,he's smart as hell. Afterwards, we discuss how we feel about allthis, convince Cello why it's awesome, and try and figure out theeasiest way to dive in. The future is now, and it is awesome! Toget started, visit and It's got just abouteverything you need.

May 2, 2016

Wait so let me get this right, I have bit coins in this wallet, then I just pay as normal at a shop that accepts contactless payments? #Cut #It #Out #UncleJoey #FullHouse Last year we had Plutus Chief Communications Officer Filip Martinka on during the early stages in which we learned that while other methods connect to a third-party exchange or hold considerable reserves of bitcoin, Plutus uses its own decentralized exchange to directly connect customers and traders. Now equipped with a new white-paper, we revisit Plutus to see what they're up too. Don’t wait for merchants to accept bitcoin, use sucka!!

Apr 24, 2016

We wrap up April by discussing the rise of bitcoin's price, an update on the pending halving event and we invite one of the Co-Founders of Ethereum, Joseph Lubin, to chat with us so you experience a vibrant and seamless view of ConsenSys and its deep understanding of the potential blockchain technologies can bring to the world. ConsenSys has emerged from stealth with a network of members worldwide, on a mission of creating decentralized applications. Also, we celebrate a full calendar year rockin' this podcast.

Apr 21, 2016

This week, we are joined by David Seaman who has been an energetic voice in favor of digital payment innovation, entrepreneurship, and protection of our Constitutional rights. He has been a guest on CNN Headline News, FOX News, and! We dive deep, focusing on spreading news of the quiet assault on our core Constitutional rights, and what we can do to stop it. Seriously, what could be more exciting than bringing Crypto to the masses while developing financial infrastructures for the 21st Century citizens of Earth! Boom-shaka-laka!

Apr 18, 2016

This week we get James D'Angelo in the studio to explore his new data and stance that miners are in trouble. His math holds up though and we find out the problem with proof of work is that it is completely mistaken. Satoshi made a fundamental mistake and we're just going to have to get over it. And his mistake was right there in the whitepaper; it says, "one CPU is one vote". What we really have to come to terms with is it's basically centralized from the very day in 2012 when there was a high number of miners and ASICs came in and mining started to centralize. And it's centralizing exponentially; we don't know the numbers but I think almost everyone can feel it.

Apr 14, 2016

The first time we had MK Lords on the show, it depicted a world gracefully drifting towards the apocalypse, and to celebrate the release of Dark Souls III, this show is one on a spiraling, feverish descent directly into it. Oh, that's right, she isn't a videogame end boss! She is indeed Community Manager for Airbitz and she is doing her interview rounds to discuss the recent Software Development Kit (SDK) launch and other announcements made earlier this year. Lords says the team has been busy this year with development, and the company has more releases to come in the future. Which means, CTO, Jim Horton drops by the studio as well. Airbitz, come out and playyyyyyyy!

Apr 11, 2016 is the quirkiest video channel using PopChest Bitcoin micropayments. On episode #42 we talked in length about the micropayment system but now we wanted to record a show with someone that uses the system itself. Laura Lopez is a genius and she just so happens to be our guest this week. She is a Los Angeles-based reality TV editor. Most people are doubtful about bitcoin and its price volatility. But as soon as content creators realize they can win a lot more distributing their creations through bitcoin than with actual models like adsense or amazon, despite the variability of its price, the bitcoin market can explode.

Apr 4, 2016

Steven McKie is basically a UI designing, marijuana card havin’, business and technical professional with a broad skill set who is committed to any growing, or established business. We talk about a variety of topics such as Datt, Yours, Blockchannel, and E-40. OK, maybe not that last one. He has a BSBA in Information Systems Engineering and Technology, and a masters in thuganomics as Crypto alter-ego Lil’ Buterin spits hot blockchains at us…because he spits hot fire.

Mar 31, 2016

Jon Fitch says he is “too good anywhere” for most welterweights in MMA. We tend to agree. This weekend he will collide with Joao “The Brazilian Samurai” Zeferino for the vacant World Series of Fighting welterweight (170 pounds) championship at stake. As we anticipate the weigh-ins tomorrow and the actual fight, we talk a bit about being the first MMA fighter to be fully paid in bitcoin. Fitch loves cryptocurrency and he thinks it is bringing about a new form of commerce. Tony Swish and Cello are your guys on the 1's & 2's while the normal gang sit in for this special mid-week roundtable. Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!!!

Mar 28, 2016

When the blockchain and bitcoin are invisible to the end user, then that must mean that you’re adding some other value to the consumer. Align Commerce enables businesses and payment platforms to send and receive payments in local currency, by using the blockchain as a new payment rail. On the surface, it doesn’t seem like a very exciting premise for a “financial revolution,” but Co-Founder, Aldo Carrascoso joins us in the studio to chat about all this juicy Bitcoin remittances stuff.

Mar 21, 2016

Baby girl, whats your name? Let me talk to you, let me buy you a drank. We're the BTC Podcast, you know us! Another drunk episode in the books, ladies and gents. This time around Corey's wife, Erin, joins us with a fancy drink to talk about what it's like being a Bitcoiner's wife. Rather than simply bemoan the lack of ladies in the Bitcoin world, she decided to confront the issue head-on. Drunk. Enjoy, ya filthy savages!

Mar 14, 2016

The boys compare Bitcoin to the Animatrix and we invite Emin Gün Sirer, a professor at Cornell University to talk a bit about how he has worked to improve Bitcoin in various ways during these, oh so troubling times. In the past, he's worked on peer-to-peer systems of various kinds. Emin has also built many other academic peer-to-peer systems, and has worked to defend some of the most popular ones in court. Let's get into it!

Mar 7, 2016

Aw shit. We're big time now. Yessir, Roger Ver is in the building! If you're into bitcoin and you haven't heard of Roger Ver, well, you're not into bitcoin. He is not your typical millionaire. Dubbed ‘Bitcoin Jesus’, the 35-year-old was the first person to start seeding Bitcoin startups and is a convicted advocate of the cryptocurrency and its potential to revolutionize modern payment systems. We chat about the Blockchain, his team, and his vision for the bitcoin industry. Sadly, Cello and Corey are out this week so host #2 Demetrick is doing this whole shebang solo dolo.

Mar 3, 2016

You know that feeling of true love you feel when you read a revolutionary white paper for the first time? Or that feeling of unbounded joy when you realize that there is no counter party risk in this new currency you're using and you've reclaimed your economic freedom? No? Well, Naomi Brockwell has carved out a most unusual career in the US, combining her twin passions for the arts and free-market economics. You see, in order to spread, ideas need a communicator. They need a representative. In short, they need a face. And, what better face than an attractive redhead?

Feb 29, 2016

The gang call a Burger King in Arnhem who reward Bitcoin customers with a free Whopper and then we call a Burger King in the United States who have no idea what Bitcoin is. Quite the fun social experiment. In addition, we explore the how blockchain technology will effect real estate transactions, records, and investing. We welcome the two hardest working men in the Crypto space, Director of Business Development, Matt McKibbin and our past guest Christian Saucier. To give you an overview; they launched their real estate MVP, and in talks with several prominent VC’s who have expressed interest. We have a lot to talk about this episode. Lets do work!

Feb 22, 2016

It’s only natural that we keep our eye on the rising tide of alternative content delivery platforms, particularly ones that incentivize decentralization using cryptocurrency. It will likely take years of technical development before this suite of technologies is commercially viable. Yet, this mountain of computer engineering is not our greatest challenge. The real challenge is to build something that’s actually worth building. To know more about PopChest and the platform decentralization process, we invite the platform creator, Valerian Bennett, onto the show to discuss his enthusiasm for the world-changing possibilities of Bitcoin. Drop-dro-dro-dro-drop it like Robocop!

Feb 18, 2016

One of bitcoin’s most-often cited challenges is the need for widespread merchant adoption. Enter...SNAPCARD! They help consumers spend their digital currencies. Good onya, mate! Our guest this week, co-founder Michael Dunworth came into our studio and immediately we felt like old chaps as we both all try and rethink the way that merchants accept digital currency. It is our focus to help merchants understand the value of accepting digital currencies. So you know...this episode is important. Did we just label our own podcast as important? Bloody oath we did!

Feb 14, 2016

In the 1960s, when the practice of software development was first emerging, the industry chose to take the ‘code-domain’ route. We have wound back the clock, and we are choosing differently. Code Valley is poised to bring a potential trillion dollar industry to bitcoin. This development team is lead by Noel Lovisa, who joins us in the studio to tell us about an entirely new software development technology. When Bitcoin appeared on his radar in 2011, he immediately recognized that a software supply-chain, fueled by a Bitcoin blockchain, would make a dangerous combination. In addition, podcast regular Tony Sakich joins us on the roundtable.

Feb 8, 2016

If not for DNS (domain name systems), very few people would be able to visit this website. They'd have to know that our server's IP address is something like Needless to say, readership/listenership of The Bitcoin Podcast would probably never reach “mass adoption.” Netki is a company that's betting that domain names will do for Bitcoin what they did for the Internet. But instead of visiting websites, you'd be visiting someone's wallet. CEO of Netki, Justin Newton, joins us in the studio this week to discuss both usability and user security.

Feb 4, 2016

The question of "how to store your bitcoins" leads to one of the most important decisions for a Bitcoin user to make.  Keeping your private keys strictly offline used to require two computers until Trezor came along and made cold storage easy and affordable. But like Reading Rainbow, you don't have to take our word for it. Joining us this week is Alena Vranova, creator of TREZOR. She chatted with us about crypto, economy, security, questions of life, everything! It's a good listen. You know what to do.

Jan 31, 2016

We chat in depth about the negative and positive aspects on increasing the bitcoin blocksize. In addition, Lil B comes through to the Bitcoin Podcast to talk about bitcoin, the music industry and spread love. In fact, he specializes in love.
