If SegWit proves to be safe, it will put more pressure on bitcoin mining pools to adopt the change. Although it seems unlikely LTC will overtake BTC anytime soon, things will get very interesting moving forward. A successful SegWit activation for Litecoin could have an effect on the bitcoin network too, though. These are exciting times to be involved in cryptocurrency, that much is certain.

Blockchain startup Ubitquity has announced it will overhaul the land registrar offices of two Brazilian municipalities by embedding land ownership information into the bitcoin blockchain.
